Hear directly from the candidates seeking to represent Murray Plains
With the Victorian State Election approaching, local voters will have the opportunity to hear directly from the three candidates contesting the Murray Plains electorate at a public Candidates’ Forum.
We are pleased to confirm that all three invited candidates have accepted the invitation to participate:
Zoe Cook – Victorian Greens
Brett Hosking – The Nationals
Garner Smith – One Nation Victoria
The Forum will focus on the issues that have a direct impact on the future of our communities, farms, businesses and environment.
Topics will include:
The future of irrigated agriculture and regional economic sustainability
Water security, food security and regional communities
Renewable energy infrastructure and landholder rights
Victoria’s future energy security
Flood mitigation and government responsibility
Gunbower Forest, environmental water and forest management
Each candidate will be asked the same questions and given equal time to respond, with the focus on their policies, proposed actions and commitments for the Murray Plains region.
The evening will include opening statements, questions on the key regional issues, candidate responses and follow-up questions, concluding statements, and an opportunity for questions from the floor.
This is an opportunity for voters to hear, first-hand, what each candidate proposes to do about the issues that matter to our region and to put their own questions directly to those seeking to represent Murray Plains.
